The Journey

Are you feeling “stuck” in your spiritual life?

Is your life of prayer non-existent, erratic, or feels “dry”?

Does God feel distant to you?

Do you find yourself asking:

Is this as good as the spiritual life gets?

Where is God?

How can I change?

Why do I keep sinning when I know so much?

Have you wondered what it would be like to explore the ancient practices of the Faith?

Have you wondered what life would be like if you really lived from a deep place of relationship with God?

Do you want to go deeper in your relationship with Jesus but aren’t sure of the way forward?

These kinds of questions and concerns about the Christian life are not only welcomed in “The Journey,” they are encouraged.

Only by opening to the truth of our hearts with the Spirit can we grow in our walk of faith.

“The Journey” is a layered experience.

On the first we're asking ourselves:

What would happen if I gave myself to my relationship with Jesus for a reasonably extended period of time, with focus, intentionality, and some intensity? What could happen?

On the next layer we open to a journey into our hearts with the Spirit to ask:

Spiritually, speaking, how did I get to be in the shape I'm in?

In order to do this, we have to do some exploration of our own souls with the Spirit and in community in the safety of God's never-ending grace.

This is why we call it “The Journey.”

On another layer, we're exploring what St. Benedict called "the rule of life."

We look at the theology and the practice of the spiritual practices (or disciplines) that have stood the test of time over the centuries.

These practices help us to begin the process of creating habits that can help to sustain our spirituality and our relationship with God over a lifetime.

The questioning heart, the broken heart, the suspicious heart, the seeking heart: all are welcome on “The Journey.”

Reflection

Our Reflection Groups are a gentle introduction to the idea of spiritual formation.

These groups are for those who want to start down the path of a deeper awareness of God and the ways He relates to us – both directly to us and through relationships with others.

These groups are designed to help you consider the true nature of your relationship with God in a deeper, dynamic, and personal way.

Together, we address questions such as:

  • How do I look at God, and how does He look at me?

  • What is prayer like for me?

  • Do I actually have affection for God?

  • Does God have affection for me?

  • Does how I experience God affect my relationship with others?

In a safe and honest group setting, we will discuss fresh ways to approach scripture, conversation with God, and prayer that is both active and contemplative.

If you are interested in a future Reflection Group, or have any questions at all, please complete the form below. You are not committing to anything and there is no obligation of any kind.

Retreats

Given our fast-paced life, solitude and silence are important practices for tending to our souls. Therefore, we facilitate regular opportunities to come away and to be alone with God. These retreats are designed with busy people in mind and so are limited to 3 hours. There is a spiritual director present to provide some guidance but this time is reserved for you to be quiet and alone with God. As part of your retreat, there is always an opportunity for you to receive Holy Communion.

Come away to be with Abba – come and tend to your soul.

We look forward to hearing from you.
